Veteran actor and political maverick Ron Silver to host daily morning talk show

SIRIUS Satellite Radio today announced the launch of
Indie Talk, an exclusive, groundbreaking talk radio channel that will

Ron Silver, among others. Indie Talk will give an equal voice to
individuals from any affiliation or background, target the blogger
generation, and be a platform for listeners across the country to react

Indie Talk will launch Wednesday, February 6, 2008 — the morning

call-in talk show, which will air Monday-Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 am

Silver, like Indie Talk, represents the intersection of
liberal and conservative, and the intersection of entertainment and

National Convention in 2004.

“Radio
needs a change as much as the country,” said Silver. “Indie Talk will
give voice to all individuals for an amazing national debate.”

“More
than ever, Americans need a place to engage in discussion regardless of
their backgrounds and ideologies. Indie Talk is open to everyone, and
will create a new dynamic in radio for the 2008 Presidential Election,”
said Scott Greenstein, SIRIUS’ President, Entertainment and Sports.
“Ron Silver and all the individuals who become involved with Indie Talk
will be the catalysts that spark great debate and opinions from every
walk of life.”

Indie Talk will stay on
pace with today’s frenzied news cycle by airing “blogcast” news updates
every 20 minutes — reporting the freshest headlines and buzz as it
unfolds on the blogs. Additionally, Indie Talk will feature “The Blog
Bunker,” a cutting-edge roundtable featuring a selection of the over
100 million bloggers around the globe.

Indie Talk joins a
powerful lineup of innovative, exclusive programming that includes The
Foxxhole, a 24/7 comedy and entertainment channel produced by Jamie
Foxx, and SIRIUS OutQ, SIRIUS’ 24/7 LGBT channel. SIRIUS offers liberal
talk on SIRIUS Left, and conservative talk on its SIRIUS Patriot

Sirius, XM Satellite Radio Shares Up After Analyst Predicts Regulatory Approval of Acquisition

Category : Uncategorized

Shares of Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. and XM Satellite Radio Holdings
Inc., which are awaiting regulatory clearance from regulators to
combine, jumped on Thursday after an analyst upgraded both companies
and said she believes the acquisition deal will be approved.

Investors are anxiously waiting for the Department of Justice and
the Federal Communications Commission to approve the $5 billion deal
for Sirius to acquire its rival. The companies had originally hoped to
receive clearance by the end of 2007.

On Thursday, Janco Partners
analyst April Horace raised her rating of XM shares to “Buy” from
“Accumulate” on her assumption the deal will eventually close. She also
upgraded her rating of Sirius shares to “Accumulate” from “Market
Perform.”

Horace estimated that the combined companies could achieve cost savings of $4.1 billion over the next 6 years.

“It
remains to be seen whether or not the DOJ approval will arrive before
Sirius reports its financial results, sometime in the second half of
February,” Horace said in a note to investors. She noted that the
companies have an option to cancel the deal without penalty if it does
not win regulatory approval by March 1.

“We believe that the DOJ
will make an announcement before March 1, and that the companies will
extend the March 1 date if they are still waiting for FCC approval,”
the analyst said.

Shares of Sirius jumped 14 cents, or 4.6
percent, to close at $3.20 on Thursday. The stock has traded between
$2.51 and $4.06 during the past 52 weeks. Shares of XM Satellite Radio
Holdings Inc. gained 49 cents, or 4.1 percent, to close at $12.40.
During the past 52 weeks, the stock has traded between $9.62 and $16.44.

This news should only make the two stocks climb higher.

Still like every other day waiting for this merger to happen it’s all speculation until there is an official announcement.
