SIRIUS XM Radio today announced the launch of a weekly show hosted by Mike Posner, the young phenom and mixtape superstar, whose music has risen to the top of the charts.

Posner — singer, songwriter, producer and recent Duke University graduate — received critical acclaim when he self-released two mixtapes and signed a record deal with J Records while still in school. The Detroit native received his diploma from Duke as his song, “Cooler Than Me,” was rising on the Billboard charts and he was preparing to hit the road with the Warped Tour. The smash single “Cooler Than Me” has sold more than 1.1 million downloads to date and risen to No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

His debut album, 31 Minutes to Takeoff, will be released on August 10. Posner co-wrote and/or co-produced every track on 31 Minutes to Takeoff, which also features collaborations with Benny Blanco (Ke$ha, Katy Perry, 3OH!3), Boyz II Men, Travis Barker and songwriter Teddy Riley.

His weekly SIRIUS XM show, The Mike Posner Show, debuts on September 10 on SIRIUS XM’s Faction (SIRIUS channel 28/XM channel 52), SIRIUS XM’s 100% commercial-free music and action sports lifestyle channel. The show will air Friday nights at 9:00 pm ET. Sirius XM updated their iPhone app yesterday to version 1.3.3 (Link). Included in this update is the ability to multitask (thanks to iOS4), reduced buffer while on a cellular network and the ability to organize favorite channels. Also included are several new settings and various bug fixes to improve stability. So far the reviews look positive with the only issue being the absence of Howard Stern.

Sirius XM also released a new version of the XM SkyDock app yesterday but unfortunately excluded the ability to multitask. The only update was improved accessory connections while using iOS4.

SIRIUS XM Radio announced that Rick Bayless, the award-winning renowned chef, restaurateur, bestselling cookbook author, television personality and “Top Chef Master” will host Fiesta at Rick’s, an exclusive five-week satellite radio series on SIRIUS XM’s Martha Stewart Living Radio.

SIRIUS XM Radio announced that it will air the 2010 British Open Championship live nationwide this Thursday, July 15, through Sunday, July 18, on XM channel 146 and on SIRIUS channel 209 for subscribers with the “Best of XM” programming package.

SIRIUS XM will provide listeners with hole-by-hole coverage of the Open Championship, provided by IMG, live from the renowned Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland as well as live updates and analysis from SIRIUS XM’s Fred Albers and Matt Adams.

Live coverage will start Thursday and Friday at 3:00 am ET and Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 am ET and will continue until the conclusion of each day’s play.
