SIRIUS XM Radio will commemorate the career of America’s most beloved and respected broadcast journalist, Walter Cronkite, who died at 92 on July 17, 2009, with a special broadcast of a historic interview with Barbara Walters.
The historic interview will air on SIRIUS XM Stars, SIRIUS channel 102 and XM channel 155, beginning today, Saturday, July 18 at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 11:00 pm; Sunday, July 19 at 7:00 am, 10:00 am, 4:00 pm and 11:00 pm; and Monday, July 20 at 5:00 am, 7:00 am and 11:00 am (all times Eastern).
The thirty-minute interview features Cronkite and Walters discussing his career, including what he thought was his greatest achievement, whether or not he had any regrets and his thoughts on the future of news.
Additionally, Walters will pay special tribute to Cronkite’s achievements during her exclusive SIRIUS XM Radio show, Here’s Barbara, on SIRIUS XM Stars on Monday, July 20 at 6:00 pm ET.
Cronkite’s longtime chief of staff, Marlene Adler, said Cronkite died at 7:42 p.m. at his Manhattan home surrounded by family. She said the cause of death was cerebral vascular disease.
