SIRIUS XM Radio Covers Every Pick of the 2009 NFL Draft on April 25-26

SIRIUS XM Radio, the Official Satellite Radio Partner of the NFL, announced today that it will provide NFL fans from coast-to-coast with comprehensive coverage of the 2009 NFL Draft, offering live access to the announcements of all 256 draft choices, plus expert analysis, on SIRIUS NFL Radio (SIRIUS channel 124, XM channel 124 with the “Best of SIRIUS” programming package)

On Saturday, April 25, the SIRIUS NFL Radio channel will broadcast live from NFL Draft headquarters at Radio City Music Hall in New York City from 3:00 pm ET through the end of the second round. On Sunday, April 26, live on-site coverage resumes at 10:00 am ET with the first pick of the third round and continues through the draft’s final selection. In all, SIRIUS NFL Radio will provide 16 hours of live coverage from inside Radio City plus full pre- and post-Draft analysis.

SIRIUS NFL Radio’s Draft coverage will include live announcements of all 32 teams’ selections plus one-on-one interviews with dozens of draftees, general managers and coaches from around the league. SIRIUS XM’s on-site hosts will draw on decades of experience in player evaluation to address each team’s needs and offer appraisals of every pick. The SIRIUS NFL Radio team on the floor at Radio City Music Hall will feature Gil Brandt, the renowned former VP of Player Personnel for the Dallas Cowboys whose innovative management and personnel systems are used by many pro and college teams today; Pat Kirwan, a former NFL scout, coach and front-office executive with nearly four decades of experience in player evaluation; Tim Ryan, a former Chicago Bears defensive lineman and former captain and two-time All-American at USC; and veteran SIRIUS NFL Radio voice Adam Schein.

Following each day’s live broadcast from Radio City Music Hall, SIRIUS NFL Radio will offer continued live coverage hosted by former NFL players Randy Cross, Jim Miller and Ross Tucker and veteran journalists Howard Balzer and Dan Leberfeld. On Saturday until 3:00 am ET and Sunday until midnight ET, fans will have a place to call in and react to their team’s 2009 Draft performance and discuss the day’s biggest moves with SIRIUS XM’s experts.

On Saturday and Sunday, SIRIUS NFL Radio will present Draft previews on the regularly scheduled shows Weekend Kickoff (Sat., 8am-12pm ET) hosted by Ross Tucker and Ralph Vacchiano, Press Coverage (Sat., 12-3pm ET) hosted by Vic Carucci and Dan Leberfeld and Press Pass (Sun., 8-10am ET) hosted by Ross Tucker and Randy Cross.

On Saturday, April 25, SIRIUS XM’s all-sports Mad Dog Radio channel (SIRIUS channel 123, XM channel 144) will air NFL Draft specials live from 12:00 to 10:00 pm ET. Mad Dog Radio hosts Andy Gresh and Andrew Bogusch will host, allowing callers from around the country to weigh in with their opinions on upcoming picks and react as soon as the first and second round selections are announced. Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo, host of the channel’s anchor program, Mad Dog Unleashed, will join Bogusch on the air Saturday night to recap the Draft’s first day.

On Friday, April 24, Adam Schein and Gil Brandt will host SIRIUS NFL Radio’s midday show, The SIRIUS Blitz, live from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm ET from the NFL pre-Draft events in Central Park, where they will interview top prospects and report on all the latest pre-draft news.
