Sirius June 24th Channel Change

Changes to the Sirius Lineup Start June 24th
What to know:
When you turn your radio on the morning of June 24, it may need 2 - 5 minutes to receive the update from our satellites. During this time, the audio you hear may not match what is shown on your display and you may see messages such as “updating channels” on your radio’s display.
While the changes are being updated to your radio, please do not change channels as this will delay the update from completing.
This upgrade will affect some existing channel numbers, so you may need to update your presets on June 24.

Sports Play-By-Play Block FAQ:
Q: How do I know if my radio gets the new sports block?
A: On or after June 24, tune your radio to channel 175. If you get this channel (you
hear audio), you have the new sports block.
Q: Do I still get all the sports play-by-play live games if my radio doesn’t
get the new channel block?
A: Yes. You will still get all the sports that SIRIUS broadcasts, just as you do today.
The new sports block is just a convenient way for some radios to find the games.
Q: Are there any exceptions?
A. Yes. Notre Dame games will remain on Ch. 159, and Ch. 184 remains SIRIUS
Weather and Emergency. Additionally, Stiletto 100 and Stiletto 10 do not support
the
sports block at this time.
Q: If my radio gets the new sports block, will the channels that were
previously pre-empted for games now play their regular programming?
A: No. Those channels will still be pre-empted during live games.
Q: I set the Giants as my favorite team so the radio alerts me when the
Giants are playing. Will I still get my alert?
A: Yes, absolutely. You won’t miss a game!

What is going on with this channel update. Yesterday, my radio received the update, I tuned to channel 175 as per the FAQ, I received audio, but got the message “Program not Available” on my screen.
I contacted support, they wrote me back and indicated that THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS CHANNEL 175, IT DID NOT EXIST.
This morning my radio received a second update, now I can not receive the channel 175 that I received yesterday, or any of the play by play block. I was able to receive it yesterday, what is going on with this?
Ed I have no clue. Maybe your Radio can not get the new Sports Block, which would suck.
What radio do you have and I will look into it for you.
The radio I noticed this behavior on was a Stratus SV3.
It looks like 175 was just a test channel to see if you get the sports block. Can you get any of the channels in the sports block?
119-128?
If you get those you should be ok, if not I would give Sirius a call and ask them what is up. (Good luck with that though, their Customer Service is horrible..lol)
I see no reason why you should not be able to receive every channel if you are paying for the service.
Let me know how it goes.
Edit: After reading some more it’s only certain radios that will offer the Sports Block feature, you will still have all the same channels. I’m assuming it’s the newer radios since I can not find a list on their website.
My radio can receive 119-128, I just double checked. However yesterday, it could receive channels 175 - 183 (The display also said “Program not available” on these channels.) and it can not today. I did not check the whole range (162 - 194) yesterday, only 175-183.
And yes, Sirius Customer support is worthless! When I started my subscription, the Customer service guy barely spoke English. His English was so bad, he got my name, addresss, and e-mail address wrong on my account. He also told me the incorrect login name for the account, and I had to call to support a second time in order to get into it for the first time from the web. On top of it all, he was very pushy about trying to get me to agree to a one year subscription. About the 5th “NO” (I raised my voice on this one), he finally quit trying. Sorry for getting off topic, but I needed to vent on this one…
I hear you. They definitely need work on the CS section. Every time I have called they also try to “Up Sell” service.
You could probably see those channels yesterday since they were using them for the upgrade. I’m sure it was some type of glitch. At least you can get everything now though.
I was reading around and it sounds like the second update you got should have corrected anything wrong with the first. Some people are having other issues and the Sirius Techs said that they are looking into any problems. So if you have any issues you might see a fix soon.
