First Real-Time, Weather Tracking System for In-Dash Automotive GPS Navigation Systems Featured in all-new Acura TSX at 2008 New York International Auto Show

XM (NASDAQ: XMSR) announced that XM NavWeather, the first in-vehicle real-time weather tracking service for navigation, will be available on the all-new second-generation Acura TSX sports sedan. The vehicle was unveiled today at the 2008 New York International Auto Show at the Jacob K. Javits Center.

2009 TSX drivers will be first to experience the new XM NavWeather service, available as part of the Technology Package that also includes an Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition™ and AcuraLink® real-time traffic powered by XM NavTaffic. The 2009 TSX will also offer XM® Radio, which features 170 channels of audio entertainment.

The XM NavWeather service uses sophisticated Threat Matrix™ technology to track nationwide weather information for more than 20 different weather conditions, then scales and customizes this detail to the driver’s specific location and route. XM NavWeather can alert drivers to severe conditions before they drive into them. The service works with the Navigation System to display information via color weather icons or warning signals on the vehicle’s navigation screen, and can give the driver the option to easily re-route around a storm’s path. The service also provides multi-day forecasts based on weather monitoring stations across the United States.
